ALMA LAURA
Peruvian artist based between the UK & Peru
Born in Lima in 1949, Alma Laura moved to the UK at the young age of 19. In her early 20s, she took up her current painting practice in which she explores her own identity alongside themes of sexuality, race, the feminine, the body, the family, the imagined and the current. All from her own internal gaze.
ā
In her colour-filled works, Alma Laura distills memories and snapshots of life's moments and experiences, capturing human connection mixed with elements of nostalgia.
ā
Amalgama is excited to launch the diverse portfolio of this fascinating and prolific artist for the first time in central London. Below is a selection of works available.
