Dania Gonzalez

Dania Gonzalez is a Cuban instal- lation and performance artist who explores notions of nostalgia, spir- ituality, memory and humanity’s relationship to nature and land- scape. Her works are motivated by an interest in capturing nature in its beautiful and disturbing phe- nomena, using it as a metaphor for nature itself. Her projects have allowed her to obtain different scholarships such as the Studio 21 Creation Scholarship from the Centre for the Development of Visual Arts in Havana (2013), and the 2015 DAAD Stibet Scholarship in Germany. In addition to having participated in group exhibitions, she has presented her work in individual exhibitions at Ludwig Foundation of Cuba, the Centre for the Development of Visual Arts of Havana and the Studio of the KulturKontakt residence, in Vienna.
