Mari Claudia Garcia
Mari Claudia Garcia is a Cuban interdisciplinary visual artist whose practice is fundamentally anchored in the study of com- munication and language, from a social and political perspective, which includes exploring power relations and local culture. She has been invited to participate in several editions of the Salon de Arte Cubano Contemporáneo SACC, the 2019 Havana Biennial, and she has been awarded with grants/fellowships such as: Juan Francisco Elso (2015), Havana Cultura (2013) and Estudio 21 (2012). Her work has been col- lected by the Boston Museum of Fine Arts; and the Cisneros- Fontanals Foundation in Miami. She is currently pursuing an MFA in the Sculpture Department of Rhode Island School of Design (2023).
