RENATA FERNANDEZ
Venezuelan artist based in London
Influenced by Venezuelan culture, it informs not only her work but every aspect of how she looks at the world. Her recent work seems to contain a certain melancholy, especially when confronted with the impossibility of returning to her country. Therefore, when faced with the inability of achieving the unattainable, she ends up depicting an otherworldliness, a mythical reality that creates a Venezuelan fiction within her British home. Fernandez studied Fine Art at the Armando Reveron University Institute (UNEARTE), and Social Sciences, Media and Drama at Universidad Catolica Andres Bello. Renata has exhibited at Maddox Arts (Mayfair) as part of the group show Her Nature (2017) as well as the 2017 Winter Show. Fernandez was shortlisted for the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize 2018 held at Mall Galleries.
