The Beginning of the Avant Gardes
In this short course, you will learn the story of the beginning of modernism in Latin America through the eyes and work of seven incredible artists. Learn the gossip, stories and relationships that made these artists who they are while you study their groundbreaking work in depth. This course, like much of what we do, is focused especially on the work of female artists, whose artistic importance remains to be properly highlighted. We promise that by the end of the course, you will discover a new artist whose work you will absolutely love.
En este curso corto aprenderás cómo comenzó del modernismo en América Latina a través de los ojos y el trabajo de siete increíbles artistas. Conocerás los chismes, las historias y las relaciones que hicieron de estos artistas lo que son, mientras estudias a profundidad su trabajo. Este curso, como gran parte de lo que hacemos, se centra especialmente en el trabajo de mujeres artistas, cuya importancia artística sigue sin destacarse adecuadamente. About the lecturer
Daniela Galan is the founder and director of Amalgama. She is a registered lecturer at the Arts Society in the United Kingdom and has over 17 years of research in art history and philosophy. She has focused her investigation on artists from Latin America, especially female artists whose work remains underrepresented within the art industry. This was the founding purpose of Amalgama, which led her to curate numerous exhibitions, forums and publications since its inception in 2018.
